MMIR Utah is a Native-led organization addressing Missing and Murdered Indigenous Relatives through advocacy, sovereignty, and community healing.
Our Mission
In Utah, Indigenous relatives experience disproportionate violence, while families and communities continue to face gaps in response, communication, and support. MMIR Utah exists to help change that.
MMIR Utah moves Utah’s MMIR Task Force recommendations into action through justice advocacy, community healing, data sovereignty, and cultural restoration. The MMIR crisis is deepened by gaps in awareness, response, trust, and data. We center Indigenous voices, honor the stories of families and communities, and work to build Indigenous-led pathways for accountability, visibility, and lasting change across Utah.

This Year Highlights,
Medicine Forward
Begins with a powerful mural project led by Indigenous artist Mychaela Parrish. Her work centers Indigenous resilience, kinship, and cultural memory—and her Land Recapture Project aims to spark intergenerational dialogue through community murals.
Indigenous Justice Circle Awards MMIR Utah. We join strong Native-led trusted partners across Indian Country. The 2025–2027 cohort includes White Dragonfly Society, Peaceful Means, Mahpiya Luta (Red Cloud) Indian School, MMIR Utah, Na’leb’ak Guatemala, Bluebird Cultural Initiative, Healing Ribbons, Native American Community Services, and Dakota Wicohan.

What is a DAF?
A donor-advised fund (DAF) is a centralized charitable account. It allows charitably-inclined individual, families and businesses to make tax-deductible charitable donations of cash, publicly-traded stock and in some case, certain illiquid assets, to a public charity that sponsors a DAF program.
